DreamStarter 2022 - Illustration & Digital Art Instructor at HKBCPS
On 3rd August 2022, Joshua shared his experiences in graphic design and digital illustrations with a group of year 5 students at HKBCPS (香港浸信會聯會小學), while teaching them using AutoDesk Sketchbook to design posters and graphics that promote the idea of beach cleaning and sea animals protections.
Through the creation of products such as T-shirts and graphic posters, the students aim to raise awareness in the community and bring a positive impact on the environment and sustainability. Joshua is glad to see the students successfully achieve their goals and dreams step by step, following the guidance of the basics of digital illustrations.
DreamStarter is a community initiative that makes dream projects initiated by their students come true, through raising awareness, mentoring, crowdfunding, and crowdsourcing support. They hope to foster children that possess a positive mindset in solving problems and grow up to be confident adults who are not hesitant in pursuing their dreams, with a big heart to serve the community which is aligned with United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
DreamStarter has invited Joshua to share some of his past working experiences in the creative industry with the students who were aiming to create some artistic outcomes. Joshua has played the role of a DreamBacker — to provide direct contact for understanding students’ dream projects and support their needs and meet with students while listening to their wants.
Guiding and inspiring the younger generation have brought Joshua a lot of positivity and new possibilities. He is always looking forward to doing something similar again very soon!
